How to Donate and Have Your Employer Match

Many companies offer matching gift programs to support the causes that are meaningful to their employees. By donating through your employer's matching gift program, you can increase the impact of your generosity. These programs allow your employer to match your donation to Partners for Cancer Care and Prevention, increasing the resources we have to pursue our important mission. Learn how to check your eligibility and get started below:

1: Check Your Employer’s Matching Gift Program

  • Contact Your HR Department or visit your company’s internal website to check if they have a matching gift program.

  • Review the Matching Policy: Understand the details, including the match ratio, minimum and maximum match amounts, and eligible organizations.

  • Obtain the Matching Gift Form: Some companies require a form, while others have an online portal. Get the necessary form or link to the online submission process.

2: Make Your Donation

  • Choose Your Donation Method: Decide how you want to donate (credit card, check, etc.).

  • Complete the Donation Form: Fill out all necessary information, including your name, contact information, and donation amount.

  • Submit Your Donation: After filling out the form, submit your donation. Be sure to save the gift receipt, as you will need this for the matching process.

3: Submit the Matching Gift Request

  • Complete Your Employer’s Form or Online Submission: Fill out the required fields in the matching gift form or online portal. You may need the following information:Tax ID/EIN: 45-1605551

    • Donation Date: [Your donation date]

    • Donation Amount: [Your donation amount]

    • Proof of Donation: Upload or attach your donation receipt.

  • Submit the Request: Send the completed form or submit it online.

4: Follow Up

  • Monitor Your Donation: After submission, follow up with your HR department to confirm receipt and processing of the matching gift.

  • Check with us: Let us know that you have arranged for a matching gift so that we can confirm receipt and properly acknowledge the matched donation.

5: Acknowledge the Contribution

  • Thank Your Employer: Once the match is confirmed, consider sending a thank-you note to your employer or HR department for supporting your cause.
